Creating an Antispam Bot for Telegram Chats with Domino CRM

Spam is as old as the Internet itself. In case you are just a regular user, it implies wasted time, irritation, and the risk of falling for phishing scams for sure. Concurrently, in case you are running an entire Telegram group, spam can also harm your reputation and even lead to legal trouble. Thus, it is no surprise that many Telegram group owners are looking for reliable antispam solutions.

Here is a real-life complaint from Reddit: the user is a member of several large Telegram groups: regional, hobby-focused, and niche communities. They are absolutely swamped with spam. One group owner the user knows says his antispam bot deletes up to 400 spam messages per day in each community. Still, around 10 to 20 messages manage to slip through daily and trick the bot. As a result, they must be removed manually, either by him or by another moderator.

Anyone who employs Telegram to run a business or just as a serious hobby knows this pain. And the recent numbers back it up. As of late 2024, spammers accounted for nearly 40% of all content in public groups. By summer 2025, this dropped to 35%, but that is still a major share. That’s why having a Telegram antispam filter inside your chatbot builder is a must. And that is exactly what Domino CRM provides.

How to Set Up a Telegram Antispam Filter in Domino CRM

To activate the Telegram antispam bot, go to the ‘Group Chats’ section in your Domino CRM dashboard. Find the relevant chat in the list and select it. On the right-hand side, under ‘Profanity Filter,’ you will see ‘AI Anti-spam.’

Click the arrow to open the settings and configure your Telegram antispam bot.

The purpose of the antispam bot for Telegram chats is simple. It will keep your space clean automatically by filtering out:

  • Problematic topics like gambling, adult content, or scams

  • Any unauthorized promotional content

  • Sensitive or disruptive discussions like politics

When a user violates your spam rules, the Telegram antispam bot can respond in several ways:

  • Send a warning message
  • Temporarily mute the user
  • Permanently block the user

The Domino CRM antispam bot allows up to five levels of escalating penalties. For example, you can issue warnings for the first two violations, mute the user on the next two, and apply a ban on the fifth. Alternatively, you can go straight to banning from the start. It is fully customizable.

In the ‘Prohibited Topics’ section, you can list up to 20 subjects that are off-limits. These could include specific industries, individuals, countries, events, you name it. Domino CRM’s AI-based Telegram antispam filter will recognize them.

We recommend notifying your group members in advance. Just pin a message to clarify what is prohibited. With additional options, you can make your antispam bot for Telegram smarter and more precise:

  • Choose whether the bot acts silently or posts notifications for everyone
  • Notify human admins or privileged users about violations
  • Create a whitelist of users who bypass the spam filter
  • Allow only selected external links
  • Exclude specific terms from filtering (e.g., block 'crypto investment' but allow 'Bitcoin')

Once you are done, click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the screen. That is it! Your Telegram antispam filter is ready to go!

P.S. Don’t Forget to Set Your Antispam Bot as a Group Admin

To function properly, your antispam bot for Telegram chats must be set as a group admin. Here is how to do it in the desktop or web version of Telegram:

1. Open the desired chat, click the three dots, then select ‘Edit’
